"A generous and elevated mind is distinguished by nothing more certainly than an eminent degree of curiosity, nor is that curiosity ever more agreeably or usefully employed, than in examining the laws and customs of foreign nations." (Samuel Johnson)

"Legal proceedings may be fairly quick when a debt is not disputed, however when a full lawsuit must be commenced time variations may be very significant, ranging from less than a year up to a decade depending on the complexity of the case and the ability of courts to process the file. In addition, disputes characterised by a foreign element would often require more time than domestic proceedings due to translation delays. Often, malicious debtors well aware of such procedural particularities would thus extend proceedings in order to postpone payments as much as possible."
